Philosophy

If you are using the words “spiritual” and “path” in the same sentence – you’re on one. Tarot is a wonderful companion to bring with you while you explore your Path.

How I Use Tarot – and Why.

At “Tarot by Caenna,” the goal is simple: use a deck of cards with special imagery to explore the mind and unlock the Shadow within, for the purpose of spiritual integration, healing, and growth.

In our modern, 21st century world, we have prioritized our logical left brains over our abstract right brains. Our ancestors knew better – subjugating one for the other caused us to be out of balance individually as well as culturally. Tarot is a way to empower the symbolic right brain while simultaneously calming the logical left brain so the two can return to balance.

Using ideas first popularized by Dr. Carl Jung (Archetypes, The Shadow), as well as the ideas of duality and union depicted in the concept of Yin/Yang, we will explore the unconscious and the subconscious mind and tap into the abstract, symbolic right brain.

Tarot can be a powerful tool to help us to access, clarify and illuminate the mind’s images, feelings, thoughts, hopes, fears, secrets, and questions that we didn’t know were there, but need to reclaim.

Think of Tarot as (1) a key, and (2) a mirror; two tools we use to explore who you were, who you are, and who you could become.

  1. The ‘key’ – the physical images of the Cards – is used to unlock and liberate.
  2. The ‘mirror’ – what is reflected back to you in the form of insight – is used to illuminate the Path.
